Dave and Dave and Friends

Meet Dave and a couple of friends from Double D Trail Rides.

Throughout Blue Ridge the Double 'D' is known for great trail rides. They are recognized by their friendly smiles and genuine personality. David Haley has over twenty five years of equestrian experience.

They are permitted outfitters and guides, and in cooperation with the National Forest Service have developed a trail system that is second to none.

Dave has ridden the National Forest all over the country, including, Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Arizona, Montana, and Tennessee, as well as his home state of Georgia.

This experience helped form his philosophy and concepts in developing a trail riding facility that elevates trail riding into a true trail riding adventure.

The Double 'D' has good quality quarter horses and can match a horse with riders of all levels of experience. Their trail system is developed for beginners, intermediate, and advanced riders as well.

All rides are guided, and in most cases, your group or family is taken alone with no other riders.

Our first consideration is your overall safety, comfort and enjoyment.

Double D offers 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours with lunch, all day with lunch and overnight camping trips.

Our lower loop ride is approximately two hours and consists mostly of wooded mountain trails.

Our overlook ride is approximately three hours. It consists mostly of a wooded mountain trail which ends at a high mountain overlook with 30 mile views on a clear day. After a short break we return to the Double D.

The all day ride is approximately six hours.  It consists of high mountain trails and some forest service roads with several scenic view points.  It includes lunch, drink and snacks.  All you need is your camera and a bottle or canteen of water.
