Bald Falls

This waterfall is both beautiful and easily accessible by paved roads.

Directions: From Tellico Plains in Monroe County in Tennessee. Pick up 143 east out of Tellico Plains, follow the signs "The Cherohala Scenic Skyway" along Tellico River for several miles watching for signs leading to Bald River Falls. At Bald River Falls exit right the Cherohala Skyway will lead to the left. the road will narrow here but stilled paved. You'll drive along a beautiful white water gorge with several small falls making the ride worthy of the journey. After a few miles you'll start to cross a wide bridge and right on the river you'll hear then see an outstanding waterfall pouring over a cliff into a pool and flowing under the bridge. This photo could have been shot from our vehicle, but chose to use a tripod for a better shot. At the end of the bridge you can park on the left, cross the road and follow a short trail to the top of the falls. Returning to your vehicle and driving around a couple of curves are a set very impressive river falls.

Coker Creek Falls

The Coker Creek Falls Trail is 3.2 miles long and runs through the Coker Creek Scenic Corridor. This easy walking trail takes you to numerous cascades and connects to the John Muir Trail.

Directions: Travel east from Etowah on Hwy 310 to the junction of Hwy 68 and turn right. Go south on Hwy 68 for 13.3 miles to Ironsburg Methodist Church and turn right. From Ducktown go north on 68 and when you get to the Ironsburg Methodist Church and turn left. After the church travel 0.8 miles to the cemetery and turn left. Go 0.6 miles to Duckett Ridge Road and turn right traveling 2..4 miles and turn left on FDR 2138. It's 1 mile to trail head parking.
