Imagine a time before electricity, hot-and-cold running water, and the comfort of department stores. Time felt different then, its rhythm and urgencies shaped by the most basic needs. Visitors to the Foxfire Museum in Mountain City, GA, can imaginatively re-create the works and days of southern Appalachia in the 1800s.

John C Campbell Folk School offers creative, learning vacations for adults in a beautiful natural setting. With classes in craft, art, music, dance, cooking, gardening, nature studies, photography and writing. Discover why Rand McNally Atlas named the Folk School one of the top 30 U.S. destinations for a day’s visit in their Best of the Road listing. Numerous walking trails meander the 300-acre campus, including the Rivercane Walk, a creekside trail with art honoring the strong Cherokee heritage of the Appalachian area.

The Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds are right on beautiful Lake Chatuge in Towns County Georgia. The Fairgrounds sit along the banks and are surrounded by the mountains, including the tallest mountains in Georgia. The Festivals and Concerts start in early spring with the Rhododendron Festival, followed by the Bluegrass Festival, The Georgia Mountain Fair, Fall Festival, Super Star Concerts, Georgia's Official State Fiddler's Convention and there are campgrounds right on beautiful shores of Lake Chatuge.

Custom made Art created by Grey Eagle, Native American Artist, Environmentalist, Historian and Teacher. Each piece is designed and hand carved by Grey Eagle out of Sacred Pipe Stone and the bead work crafted by Golden Hawk. It is Grey Eagle and Golden Hawk's life work to keep the Native American heredity and traditions alive and one of the many ways they do this is through their art.
