The color keep increasing everywhere you look. The tops of the taller mountains in North Carolina are already showing lots of color. The color in the lower parts of the North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee & Mountains are just beginning to change.
Fall draws more people into the mountains than any other time of the year. It's not only because of the beautiful colors, although that is part of the draw, this time of the year has great weather, beautiful skies and festivals everywhere.
This weekend you can start in Ellijay for the Hillcrest Orchards' Apple Jubilee, go into Blue Ridge for Fall Arts in the Park, into Blairsville for the Sorghum Festival, then into Hiawassee for the Georgia Mountain Fall Festival. Obviously you can't do all of that in one day, luckily all are on both Saturday and Sunday, and Georgia Mountain Fall Festival runs through the following weekend and Hillcrest Orchards' Apple Jubilee runs all through October. Check below for the schedules for those events and a few others.

Each October, the 9-day event features exciting musical performances, Arts & Craft vendors, educational demonstrations, a flower show and the ever-popular Georgia’s Official State Fiddlers' Convention.

Fall Arts in the Park - BRMAA

Join us for the Fall Arts in the Park festival in the Downtown City Park in Blue Ridge, GA. Enjoy nearly 100 fine art and fine craft artists, delicious food, and mother nature's colorful array of Fall splendor. Festival hours are 10am-5pm.
For 40 years, the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association, a non-profit arts council, has provided a unique art experience through our Arts in the Park festival series in the Downtown City Park of Blue Ridge, GA. Whether your travel plans are in the spring or in the fall, these art festivals are fun for the whole family. Located at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, these events draw in excess of 18,000 attendees. With over 175 fine arts, crafts and food booths, these festivals have something for everyone. There are always activities for the children, along with special events for the big kids.

The Blairsville Sorghum Festival has been a part of Blairsville's heritage for more than 40 years. While small in number, they accomplished by far the largest and most distinctive event of the year in Union County.
The Blairsville Sorghum Festival Club requests and gets help from hundreds of citizens, firms and organizations each year to make the Festival the success it has always been.

Meet some of Grady the Groundhog's woodland friends or possibly our birds of prey, a Red-tailed hawk and Great Horned Owl, at our daily 2 pm Family Animal Encounters! A Park naturalist will explain each animal's role in our ecosystem, how they came to live at the park and lessons on what we can do to help protect wildlife.
