Hamilton Gardens - Hiawassee Georgia
Hamilton Gardens
native and hybrid, sit quietly along 33 acres of majestic walking trails, spilling over as if to greet you with warmth and color. Some of them are as high as 40 feet tall. Their character is intriguing yet tranquil.
A Blooming Affair at Hamilton Gardens takes place from mid-April to mid-May, everything will be in bloom, showing colors even an artist dreams about! 400 varieties and as many as 1,500 rhododendrons and azaleas create a magnificent backdrop for many other equally beautiful plants, such as Dogwoods, Redbuds, and Hydrangeas. Wildflowers native to the Appalachian Mountains like Solomon's seal, wild ginger, trout lily, and trillium will also be in bloom. Call us to schedule a guided Garden tour!
The Gardens are open year-round and every season offers spectacular views. Find us off US Highway 76 in Hiawassee, 96 Pavilion Road. The entry fee is $2 per person or $5 per family per visit, using the honor system. 'Mr. Rhodie' is a receptacle located at the entrance to the gardens to collect your entry fee. The work to keep everything blooming, is constant and done in large part by volunteers. Donations to support our efforts are also kindly accepted by 'Mr. Rhodie'. Or perhaps find 'Ms. Rhodie' or 'Jr. Rhodie' who are also glad to accept your donation. They are located near the raised bed area and the pavilion area. There are no pets allowed in the Gardens.
