The Inspirations, The Martins, & The Perrys

The Inspirations, The Martins, & The Perrys Live at Anderson Music Hall at Georgia Mtn Fairground

The Inspirations: Martin Cook, a former piano player for the Kingsmen and a chemistry teacher at Swain High School in Bryson City, NC, formed the Inspirations in 1964. The 1970s saw the Inspirations rise to national attention with a number of hit songs. They had the very first number one song on the Singing News chart in January of 1970 with “Jesus Is Coming Soon.” Beginning in November 1973, the group had the top song for 12 months in a row. “Touring That City” held the position through February 1974 and “When I Wake Up To Sleep No More” was the most popular song for the next seven months. “Jesus Is Mine” was also a number one song for the group in 1976.

The Inspirations continued to present concerts with a traditional style and a conservative image in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. Songs like “Cry For The Children” and “We Need To Thank God” resounded strongly with Christian conservatives and fans of traditional gospel music. The Inspirations returned to the top position on the Singing News chart in 2002 after a 26-year absence with “I'll Not Turn My Back On Him Now.” "I Have Not Forgotten" (April 2007) and "If You Only Knew" (November 2007) were also number one songs for the Inspirations during the 2000s. In mid-2020 after several months not touring due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Inspirations announced the older group members (Archie Watkins, Eddie Dietz, and Marlin Shubert) would remain off the road until a vaccine was developed. The younger group members (Luke Vaught, Roland Kesterson, and Wyatt Austin) resumed traveling and were joined by tenor singer Isaac Moore. Vaught began pulling double duty playing piano and singing baritone while Austin became the group's full-time bass singer. Concert promoters consequently began introducing the revamped lineup as the Young Inspirations.

The Martins: Siblings, Joyce, Jonathan and Judy, collectively known as The Martins, have enjoyed countless radio hits and performances at concert halls, arenas, auditoriums and churches worldwide. During the 1990s, The Martins rose to national and international success, showcasing their stunning and distinctive harmonies before a vast array of audiences, from legendary singer/songwriter Bill Gaither's multi-award winning Homecoming Video and Concert Series to the White House to Carnegie Hall. Over the years the Trio garnered eight Dove Awards from the Gospel Music Association, as well as a prestigious Grammy nomination.

In 2003, the siblings chose to take different paths. “We needed that time off to recharge our batteries on all levels,” Joyce explains. “That was a very important time for each of us. We needed to grow individually, both in our spiritual lives, as well as in our personal lives.” After nearly a decade of pursuing individual music careers, the three reunited in 2010, and today their precedent-setting musical influence is as strong as ever. In 2011, they released their first new recording together in 10 years. New Day, distributed by Gaither Music Group, was produced by Jay DeMarcus (Rascal Flatts), and features the trio's unmatched family harmony. Most recently, The Martins returned to the recording studio to produce their latest recording. Still Standing, released July, 2018, under the Gaither Music Group label and promises to offer even more success for the popular trio. This all-new recording finds the multi-Grammy nominated vocal group standing stronger than ever, showcasing their benchmark family blends and intricate arrangements produced by renowned producer Gordon Mote. These compositions, including the remake of their classic hit “Wherever You Are,” reflect the latest chapters in siblings Judy, Joyce and Jonathan's journeys as they share messages of God's goodness and providential hand at work in every season of our lives. The recording recently afforded The Martins their third Grammy nomination, as the release received the 2019 Grammy nomination for Best Roots Gospel Album.

The Perrys: If you have ever seen The Perrys in concert, you have undoubtedly sensed the power and conviction with which they sing. From the high-octane, hand-clapping hit, "I Wish I Could Have Been There," to the anointed anthem, "If You Knew Him," the Dove Award-winning group has been delivering soul-stirring performances across North America for nearly five decades. Their sound, unmistakable. Their calling, unarguable. Their performances, unforgettable. Their joy, unspeakable.

The Perrys—Libbi Perry Stuffle, Jared Stuffle, Dayton Gay, and Jason Gordon—have forged a deep sense of unity.Loved by gospel music fans around the world, The Perrys have earned many accolades over their illustrious career. In addition to their Dove Award for Song of the Year and countless Dove nominations, they have garnered numerous #1 songs and 15 Singing News Fan Awards, including the 3-time Favorite Mixed Group honor, 2-time Song of the Year, Favorite Album, as well as Libbi being named both a 2-time Female Vocalist of the Year and 9-time Favorite Alto of the Year.
