The 2026 Artisan Pottery Exposition – “The Shape of Clay” promotes the talent and design of two- and three-dimensional clay artists.
The Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association is proud to showcase the handcrafted pottery artworks by local and regional artists inside the Richard Low Evans Gallery at The Art Center.
Promoting the talent and design of two- and three-dimensional clay artists is essential for preserving and advancing the creative traditions of ceramic art. These artists combine technical skill, imagination, and craftsmanship to produce works that range from decorative wall pieces and tiles to functional pottery and sculptural forms. You’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the versatility and expressive potential of clay as an artistic medium.
Supporting clay artists also encourages cultural expression, innovation in design, and opportunities for emerging creators to share their unique perspectives. Increased visibility not only helps artists grow professionally but also inspires communities to value handmade art and the enduring impact of ceramics in both contemporary and traditional art forms.
