You can hike a 0.7 mile loop to Leatherwood Falls or explore 25 miles of trail open to hikers and horses.
Directions: From Murphy, take US 64 East toward Hayesville. After about 9 miles, turn left at the green forest service sign onto NC 1302. After about 4 miles, make another left (also marked) onto NC 1344. It's about 1 mile to Hunters Camp, and another .7 mile to the Leatherwood Falls parking area.

Jack Rabbit

Directions: From From Hayesville, NC, take US Rt. 64 east 4.7 miles to Jack Rabbit sign. Turn right onto Rt. 175 and go 2.5 miles to Jack Rabbit Recreation Area sign . Turn right onto Jack Rabbit Campground Rd. and go 1.4 miles to campground and recreation area.
